Short, and in plain language. These are the agreements between you and Croppy about using Ömür. They cover what you get, what stays yours, and what we do and do not vouch for.

What Ömür is

One timeline of your life, from a single day to every year at once, to write down what happened. It runs in your browser and keeps your data on your own device. An account is optional and serves one purpose: your calendar on more than one device.

What it costs

Right now, nothing. If a paid part is added, you will see its price and its terms before you pay anything — never after, and never as a subscription that renews on its own without you choosing it. None of that changes anything about the data you already have.

What stays yours

Everything you write, add and upload. We acquire no rights to it, publish none of it and do not use it to train models. We hold only the technical access needed to store it when you use an account.

The other way around: Ömür itself — the name, the design, the code — stays with Croppy. You may use the app as intended; copying it, reselling it or offering it as your own service is not allowed.

A backup is your job

This is the most important rule on this page, because it is the real risk of an app that sends nothing to a server. Your data lives in your browser’s storage. Clear that storage, have your browser throw it away because your disk is filling up, or lose your device, and it is gone and we cannot bring it back — not even with the best intentions, because we never had it. Use the export button in Settings, and keep that file somewhere else. An account gives you a second copy, but that is still not a backup of your own.

What you do not upload

Nothing unlawful: no material that infringes the rights of others, no child sexual abuse material, nothing meant to cause harm. If someone breaks this, we may close the account and report it where the law requires. That is the only situation in which we would end an account from the outside.

What we do not vouch for

Ömür is offered as it is. We do our work carefully, but promise no uninterrupted availability, no flawless behaviour in every browser and no eternal existence of the service. If we stop, we announce it in advance and export keeps working for as long as it can.

Ömür is not a medical, psychological or therapeutic tool. It is a calendar you write in. Find a professional if you need one.

Our liability is limited to what the law requires. We are not liable for the loss of data that lived only on your device. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain untouched, whatever it says here.

Stopping

You can stop at any moment. Erase everything in Settings removes your data on this device and, if you have an account, that account with everything attached to it. There is no notice period and no confirmation email; the button is the cancellation.

If this changes

These terms can change, for instance when a paid part is added. The date at the bottom moves along, and for a change that asks something of you, you read it in the app. If you disagree, you can stop and take your data with you.
